Your Data Rights
UK data protection law gives you rights over how your personal information is used. This page explains each right and how to exercise it with Impact Recycling Ltd.
Data Controller
Impact Recycling Ltd is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. The UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 govern how we handle that data. For full details of what we collect and why, please read our Privacy Policy.
Your Rights
Right of Access — Subject Access Request (SAR)
You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, along with information about how and why we process it. SARs are free of charge. We will respond within one calendar month of receiving your request and confirming your identity.
We may ask you to verify your identity before acting. For requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive, we may charge a reasonable administrative fee or, in limited circumstances, decline to act. We will explain our reasoning if this applies.
Right to Rectification
If personal data we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to ask us to correct it without undue delay.
Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”)
You can ask us to delete your personal data in certain circumstances — for example, where the data is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected, or where you withdraw consent and there is no other lawful basis to continue. This right is not absolute: we may be required or entitled to retain data under a legal obligation or for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.
Right to Restriction of Processing
You have the right to request that we restrict how we process your data in specific situations: for example, while you contest its accuracy, where processing is unlawful but you prefer restriction to erasure, or where you have objected to processing and we are considering whether our legitimate grounds override yours.
Right to Data Portability
Where we process your data by automated means on the basis of your consent or a contract with you, you can ask us to provide it in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format so you can transfer it to another organisation.
Right to Object
Where we process your personal data on the basis of our legitimate interests, you have the right to object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will stop processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or where processing is necessary for legal claims.
Right to Withdraw Consent
Where processing relies on your consent — including analytics cookies — you can withdraw it at any time via the cookie preference panel on this website, or by contacting us directly. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew consent.
Rights Related to Automated Decision-Making
We do not make decisions about individuals based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects. No profiling of this nature takes place on this website. If that changes, we will update this page and our Privacy Policy.
How to Exercise Your Rights
To make a Subject Access Request or exercise any other right, please contact us in writing with your full name and sufficient detail to identify the personal data in question:
Email: privacy@impact-recycling.com [TO CONFIRM]
Post: Impact Recycling Ltd, 100 Inchinnan Road, Bellshill, Glasgow, ML4 4NT, Scotland, UK
We will acknowledge receipt within 5 working days. We may request proof of identity before processing your request. We aim to respond in full within one calendar month; for complex or multiple requests we may extend this by a further two months and will notify you of the extension within the first month.
Right to Complain to the ICO
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at any time. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns first — please contact us before escalating and we will work to resolve the matter promptly.
